Former Pirates player Michael McKenry will join the AT&T SportsNet team as a studio analyst for Pittsburgh Pirates broadcasts during the 2018 season. McKenry will work alongside hosts Stan Savran, Rob King and Dan Potash during Pirates Pregame and Postgame shows.
McKenry is a former catcher who played 3 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he played in 187 games. He made his debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 13, 2011 and recorded his first major league hit two days later and his first major league home run a month later against the Chicago Cubs. McKenry quickly became a fan favorite amongst Pirates fans, who dubbed him “The Fort” for his defensive skills behind home plate. McKenry also spent seasons in Colorado and St. Louis during his seven years in Major League Baseball.

Michael McKenry’ s first game on AT&T SportsNet will be Thursday, March 8th during the Pirates Spring Training game against the Detroit Tigers. He will be a part of the AT&T SportsNet broadcast team led by play-by-play announcers Greg Brown and Joe Block, color commentators Steve Blass, Bob Walk, John Wehner and sideline reporter Robby Incmikoski. Joining Rob King, Stan Savran and Dan Potash, McKenry will provide game analysis and insight during Pirates Pregame Presented by WB Mason and Pirates Postgame presented by Allegheny Health Network.
